Borel Fire Post-Fire Workshop

Financial Resiliency for Family Ranches Workshop

Join Julie Finzel and Tip Hudson, Livestock and Range Specialist from Washington State University, for a workshop discussing financial resiliency for family ranches. Workshops will cover documenting and tracking financial profit drivers and key performance indicators and assessing financial risk in livestock operations.

Online Livestock Pass Training Available
May 20, 2022
Turnout was high at the Livestock Pass training this past Tuesday. Thanks to all who attended. A common question regarding the training was if another training would be offered. Another in-person training will not be offered, however, Kern County Fire Department has approved an online course. The course is self-paced and can be accessed at:

Tulare County Livestock Pass Training - Thursday, April 7

The Tulare County Ag Commissioner's office will be hosting a training for the new Livestock Pass program on Thursday, April 7 (yes, that's in two days)!!
What is a Livestock Pass?
A livestock pass is a card issued by the Ag Commissioner that identifies commercial livestock producers to emergency personnel to facilitate access behind roadblocks during an emergency situation for the purposes of either caring for livestock sheltering in-place or evacuating livestock.
Time: 8 AM - 12 PM

Not sure if you can make it? Tulare County Fire Department has identified a rigorous 6-8 hour online training that meets the Livestock Pass program requirements. Contact the Tulare County Ag Commissioner for more information.

The 2nd Annual Livestock Symposium will be held on February 26th from 9 am to 2 pm at the Porterville Memorial Hall at 1900 W. Olive Ave., in Porterville. We have an exciting line-up of speakers this year including Dr. James Oltjen from UC Davis, Dr. Patricia Blanchard from the CAHFS lab in Tulare, and Dr. Tony Moravec from Merial.
